Meet Okie

Okie is a robust schipperke whose forever family found him on Petfinder 2.5 years ago. He had been living with his foster family in Oklahoma City, where a rescue had found him in a field.

He has adapted well to city life, and particularly enjoys trash days when there are many interesting smells. He also loves Polka Dog and always tries to go in once we are close to search for a bone and get a treat. Okie also loves to go off leash and hike in the wilderness, and has been known to kayak, living up to the English translation of his name, Little Captain.

He can be a little aloof and shy, but has lots of love. Okie is a great testament to the wonderful rescue pets that are available for adoption. The Urban Hound names Okie pet of the month for his independent spirit.
